More than 80  employers and 5000 job seekers are expected to attend the 21st annual NEPA Job Fair, bringing talent and opportunity together once again under one roof for the largest venue of its kind in the region. The job fair is FREE for job seekers who are encouraged to prepare in advance for the event by reading tips on how to get the most out of the job fair experience and maximize their job search by visiting  the Job Seeker Strategy Blog.

Attendees can also look forward to this year's seminar series, Solutions III Financial Wisdom Camp, sponsored by Luzerne County Community College Continuing Education Department in partnership with the NEPA Job Fair. There will be a wide variety of subject matter experts in consumer affairs, personal finance and workforce development conducting seminars and workshops on a variety of topics like what to do with debt, how to budget and live well, dressing for success in the workplace on a shoestring, financial considerations when re-entering the workforce and job search tips to give candidates the advantage.

Computer classes

Two programs of basic computer classes will be held at Johnson College in Scranton:

Starting January 24, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to Noon - three weeks long
Starting February 14, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to Noon - three weeks long

Many local libraries also offer computer classes - often, a library card and pre-registration are all that is required.  Information on the Albright Library Computer Learning Lab, located in the basement of the Lackawanna County Children's Library at 520 Vine Street, Scranton, can be found by clicking here.  Or check with your local library to see if they offer computer classes.
